José Alexandre Bogas is currently Assossiate Professor with Habilitation of the Construction Group, Materials of Construction area, in the DECivil, Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), Universidade de Lisboa (UL). Graduation (1999), MSc (2003), PhD (2011) and Habilitation (2020) in Civil Engineering at IST, where he has been lecturing since 1997. His track-record involves 26 years of experience in teaching, designing, research and consultancy on civil engineering. In his non‑academic professional activity participated in various projects as coordinator and structural design engineer of Triede SA (1999-2004). As a researcher from CERIS, his domain of expertise falls within materials behaviour, more specifically in the following main topics: cement-based materials; special and sustainable concretes; durability and service life. Supervision of over 50 concluded thesis (4 PhD, 48 MSc); principal investigator of 3 national FCT projects funded with 0.64 million euros; participation in 9 national and 1 international projects funded through competitive calls (@5.5 million euros for IST); author/co‑author of 74 papers in ISI/Scopus journals and 6 papers in other international journals, 4 book chapters, over 70 communications in international and national conferences, 1 international patent, and over 80 research reports; 1 award and 3 honourable mentions in the scientific Awards of UL/CGD in Civil Engineering; member of the Technical Committees CT105, CT176, and of the fib-TG 8.8-WP4.
