The R2UTechnologies project was present at the European Façade Network Conference 2025 (EFN 2025), hosted by FCT NOVA, with the presentation of a poster titled “Thermal Bridging Effects on Concrete Sandwich Façade Panels in Modular Buildings” by Raquel Sarmento.
The poster focused on how thermal bridges influence the energy performance of prefabricated sandwich façade panels, a key element in modular concrete construction. The work investigates different insulation configurations and connection details, aiming to minimize thermal losses and improve the overall efficiency of modular envelope systems.
This contribution is part of the broader R2UTechnologies | Modular Systems initiative, which promotes sustainable and high-performance prefabricated building solutions in Portugal. The study highlights the importance of integrating thermal analysis into early design decisions, especially in modular construction, where standardized components and joint detailing can significantly affect long-term energy use.
Participation in EFN 2025 underscores R2UTechnologies’ focus on building performance, sustainability, and innovation in façade design,
