The R2UTechnologies project participated in the European Conference on Computing in Construction (EC³ 2025), held in Porto from 14 to 17 July, with a paper presented by João Palma. The paper proposed an integrated Digital Product Passport (DPP) system and a BIM library plugin to support modular construction and circularity.
DPPs enable structured data on products—such as material history, reuse potential, and technical attributes—to be stored and shared securely across the building lifecycle. The platform, developed using Web3 technologies, leverages blockchain and token-based access control to protect sensitive data while ensuring transparency and traceability.
A dedicated plugin for Autodesk Revit allows designers to access, compare, and import product passports directly into BIM models, streamlining design-for-disassembly and reuse processes. This system bridges the gap between digital design and sustainable construction practices.
This work demonstrates how digital innovation can empower modular concrete construction to become more transparent, efficient, and circular—supporting the core mission of R2UTechnologies.
