Project Researchers members recently earned a special mention for their paper, “Innovative Precast Eco-HD-LWAC Composite Walls: Development of Dry Connections,” at the prestigious 15th fib PhD Symposium in Budapest, Hungary. The symposium’s jury awarded the distinction based on the quality of papers and presentations.
The recognized research is part of a PhD project by Ricardo Martins, supported by an FCT scholarship and co-financed by the NextGeneration EU through the Innovation Pact “R2UTechologies | Modular Systems” under the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR). Martins, along with co-authors Ricardo do Carmo, Hugo Costa, Eduardo Júlio, André Furtado, and Romain Sousa, developed advanced precast structural solutions.
This work, a collaboration between CERIS/DECivil and Vigobloco – Pré-fabricados S.A, emphasizes the importance of modular systems and efficient bolted-connections in construction, showcasing the team’s impactful contributions to civil engineering.
