At the Betão Estrutural – BE2024, held at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto, Alexandre Nunes Correia received an Honorable Mention in the “Young Master’s Award” competition for his research on the seismic behavior of prefabricated walls. This recognition highlights the relevance and quality of his dissertation, developed at DECivil Técnico under the supervision of Prof. Eduardo Júlio and Prof. André Furtado.
The work was conducted as part of the R2UTechnologies Project, funded by the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR), in collaboration with VIGOBLOCO Pré-fabricados de Betão, SA. The research focused on innovative solutions for prefabricated wall systems, emphasizing seismic resilience and contributing to the development of sustainable housing.
During BE2024, the R2UTechnologies team presented advancements and case studies aligned with the project’s objectives of driving innovation in modular construction. Alexandre Nunes Correia’s research and recognition underscore the project’s role in fostering cutting-edge developments that bridge academic research and practical application.
